  • Evan Jarreau (WFMS 6th grader) reads his introductory paragraph of his essay to his class so that they have a good example of a strong introduction.

  • On Tuesday, we had a great day of staff development. We are very fortunate to have so many teachers who are dedicated to their professional growth and a commitment to our students. Eric Sheninger, international speaker and author of 6 books, spoke to each staff about specific action steps to incorporate a growth mindset.

  • Ms. Ali McMillan and Ms. Heather Howle train middle school teachers on how to use Virtual Reality Goggles, which are available for teachers to check our and use through a grant by the West Feliciana Education Foundation.

  • Third grade students, JP St. Romain, Chris Stewart, Darian Emery (1st picture), Cullen Weller, Ryder Tingle, and Sophie Cook work together to create maps. We call this synergizing!

  • Our Louisiana A Plus Arts Training provides our teachers new strategies to teach our students. The training is always hands on and a lot of fun! First picture (Mary Vanner, Holly Cafferal, Ashleigh Holub, and Alaina Lacour) Second Picture (Johnette Covington, Taylor Pierce, and Ashley Singleton)

  • Ms. Jodi Lemoine, Mr. Jim Carroll, Ms. Zanovia Curtis, and Ms. Andrea Mathis meet with Dr. John Hattie, the lead researcher on visible learning.

  • Bains and Bains Lower share more than a parking lot. The 1st grade and 2nd grade teachers work together to discuss curriculium, instruction, and assessment. Their team work builds a positive transition for our students as they make their way from Bains Lower to Bains.

  • Mr. Sam Leblanc reads to Bains Lower student, Justin McFarland. Mr. Sam is a Reader Leader from our distinguished program created by Ms. Stephanie Ferguson. Both Justin and Mr. Sam get so much fun out of reading together! We call this win-win!

  • The WFMS Tennis Team is growing! We have 27 students on the roster! A special thanks goes to all of the volunteers who have made this wonderful sport a viable option for our middle school students. Our first match was this week against Zachary.
